The Speaker of the Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain, Francina Armengol, visited Victory Park in Baku on January 23.
The Speaker of the Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain laid a wreath at the Victory Monument.
The guest was provided with detailed information about Victory Park, which was established to preserve the memory of the unparalleled heroism demonstrated by the Azerbaijani people during the Patriotic War and the historic victory achieved by Azerbaijan, as well as to perpetuate the cherished memory of the martyrs. It was noted that, at the entrance to the park, which covers an area of nearly 10 hectares, the Victory Arch was constructed as a symbol of the 44-day Patriotic War. The arch is 44 meters high, 22 meters wide, and features 44 columns.
The guest then toured the Victory Museum. The Speaker of the Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain was informed that the museum’s exhibition was developed based on international experience and contemporary museum concepts, while incorporating the latest technologies. Eight exhibition halls have been created: “Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur: A Story of Centuries,” “The Armenia–Azerbaijan Conflict: A Look at History,” “The 44-Day Patriotic War: Operation Iron Fist,” “Glorious Victory: The Liberation of Shusha,” “The Path of Heroes,” “Karabakh is Azerbaijan!”, “Restoration of State Sovereignty: 20 September 2023,” and “Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur: Revival.”
It was noted that the Victory Museum, the surrounding Victory Park, and the Victory Arch at the entrance to the park commemorate the Patriotic War, the glorious victory achieved by Azerbaijan, and the cherished memory of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.
